submitted by Shin-Ho K. - |Recommended: NoHighlander Review - 602B — First off, no disrespect to the individual staff members working to maintain Highlander Apartment. Everything is decent for the price of 595 USD in my opinion, but here are the factors I do not give full stars to this apartment. 1. No individual heater unit per household at this point, I am aware this is the same to many other apartments in Madison as well as the entire US, but I initially expected individual heater unit per household. 2. I do not know if this is the same in other rooms in Highlander, but the toilet of 602 is not good. Even if a repair guy, Russ, visited to fix the toilet today 14 OCT 19 , the toilet itself just has extremely low flushing power. It seldom does not completely flush or it takes 18 seconds for me to press the toilet button to completely flush. Once again, I do not intend this review to dishonor Highlander Apt in any aspect. These are the two real-life conditions of 602 and I hope future tenets would take this into their consideration. Every other factor of this apartment is fine and well for me.

Laundry is amazing because you don't have to input coins to use the machines. Walking distance to the Memorial Union Terrace and other great spots in downtown Madison, especially UW-Madison campus for badger students. A branch of Madison Area Technical College is right around the corner of the building, which is very convenient for transfer program students as well

submitted by Amber J. - |Recommended: NoI would rate it 0 5 if possible — It was horrible. Roommate matching is the worst. I was placed with a horrible roommate twice. They caused my mental health to deteriorate, and all Steve Brown Apartments did was allow me to move. First roommate threatened to kill me, yet I had to move. They would not let me out of my lease either time. Then, I was stuck paying for 2 apartments because I couldn't stand to live there anymore. Now, they are trying to find a way to get out of giving me my security deposit back because the other roommate trashed the place. They wanted me to clean the shared spaces, even though they knew I had not lived there for months. They take zero accountability and make a profit off of exploiting young college students who don't have much experiencing renting or living on their own. Save yourself the hassle and live somewhere else.

submitted by Takumi N. - |Recommended: NoRude maintenance staff — The staffs in the office next to the apartments are nice and helpful. However, some maintenance staff are not. One night on the weekend, a fire alarm somewhere in the apartments was beeping for an hour or so. I was wondering where the alarm is and walked around the building. When I was in front of the apartments, a maintenance staff came someone called him, apparently and started blaming me for calling him at night on the weekend although I did not. He looked very irritated. I was really shocked being blamed for something I did not do.
